Year End Giving

December, 2019

Dear Friends of The Inner-City Foundation,

Thank you for your support and commitment to The Inner-City Foundation and our mission to serve and empower needy and at-risk children and families in Fairfield County, especially in its inner cities. In the last year we have granted more than $750,000 to local programs serving the needy, including close to $500,000 to schools and childhood education programs; $130,000 to food, shelter and clothing programs; $70,000 to adult education programs; and almost $50,000 to mental health programs, a need that we have seen increase dramatically in the last year.

But need is up, and donations are down. Although we had a successful gala in November, our ability to help those in need has diminished in recent years:  In 2017 we were able to grant $951,000 to local organizations, in 2018 $877,000 and in 2019 $759,000. Funds raised continue to decrease, yet grant requests continue to increase. It breaks our hearts that we are now consistently unable to fully meet the worthwhile requests that come into our office every day in fact our total grant requests routinely amount to more than twice what we have to give.

You can help. By donating to us, you help open the door to hundreds of programs doing great work right now in Fairfield County, helping thousands of people every single day. As you
approach your year-end charitable giving, please consider including us; a donation in any amount makes a difference and helps us to meet the growing critical need. Your donation provides the funds we have available to grant next year to local Fairfield County programs helping those most in need, including and especially at-risk inner-city youth. When a person has nowhere to go, it's often the places we support that are there, and they are counting on us to support their work, now more than ever.

Please help us to bridge the gap between the need that is out there and what we are able to give.

Donate by clicking on DONATE or by mailing a check to us at Inner-City Foundation for Charity & Education, 238 Jewett Avenue, Bridgeport, CT 06606. We thank you from the bottom of our hearts and wish you a blessed Christmas and holiday season.
